This coffee is made with a careful fermentation process that adds depth and character to every sip. While the inspiration comes from the long tradition of Korean fermentation, the flavor is all about balance in the cup—smooth and full-bodied with a gentle brightness that lingers pleasantly. It feels familiar, like the comforting warmth of a classic brew, yet has a spark of something new that makes you pause and enjoy the layers. It’s a coffee meant to be savored slowly, inviting conversation and connection. Buy this coffee here and bring home a taste that is both rooted in tradition and refreshingly unique.

Hello everyone, my name is Sang Kwon. My coffee journey is a little unusual—you could even say I was a late bloomer. I was born and raised in Korea and moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of 16 and moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2006.
For most of my life, I proudly stayed away from coffee. Why? Because to me, it looked too dark, smelled too strong, and tasted way too bitter. I didn’t touch a single cup until I was 38 years old.
So, what changed? Well, life has a funny way of catching up to you. During my time as an Army officer living in Oahu, Hawaii, I often visited the Big Island, near Kona. People there were so generous, always offering me coffee. On top of that, my boss—who was a passionate coffee lover—once told me, “Unless you know the taste of coffee, you don’t know life.” That was the turning point. I took my first sip… and, to my surprise, I fell in love.
From that moment on, coffee became my passport to the world. After being stationed in Seattle—the coffee hub and birthplace of Starbucks—I began traveling to taste coffee everywhere: Japan, Korea, Mexico, Canada, the U.S., China, Italy… and this winter, I’m planning to go to Kenya. Among all these, I especially love Ethiopian coffee for its fruity, wine-like flavors—it reminds me that coffee can be as diverse and surprising as people themselves.
But for me, coffee has never just been about taste. More than anything, I value relationships. Coffee has been my way of investing in people, building networks, and sharing life together for over a decade. I’ve discovered that a cup of coffee is more than a drink—it’s an invitation to connect, to listen, and to grow friendships that last.
So, while I may have been “late” to coffee, I’d like to think I’ve been making up for lost time ever since! And I’m excited to share not just the skills of making coffee, but also the joy of what coffee can mean for our lives and relationships.
